Minecraft Snapshot 23W17A Has Been Released

A new version of the game has just been made available, and it’s packed with exciting new features and updates that you don’t want to miss. In this blog post, we will go over the most exciting new features and updates that this snapshot delivers.

First of all, what is a Minecraft snapshot? In short, a snapshot is a pre-release version of the game that allows players to test out new features and changes before they’re officially added to the game. It’s a way for developers to get feedback from the community and make adjustments before the update goes live for everyone.

At UltraServers, we like to see this kind of pre-release where game developers let the community get a sneak peek of what’s to come. We are all for listening to the community and involving them in the development; if you are a part of our Discord community you probably already know this.

What’s New?

New Ambient Music

The original soundtrack of Minecraft will always have a special place in our hearts, and no other music will ever take its place. But there have to be some variation every now and then, so we are glad to see some new music added to Minecraft.

The following new music tracks by Aaron Cherof have been added to Cherry Groves, Jungle, Badlands, and Flower Forest biomes.

A Familiar Room

Crescent Dunes

Echo in the Wind

While we are on the subject of music, we should also mention a new music disc being added. It can be found by brushing suspicious blocks in Trail Ruins. Find it and put it in a Jukebox and you will hear sweet, sweet music.

Technical Changes

There have also been some changes to the technical side of things. With the resource pack now being at version 15, they have added some changes to the font and credits. In general, a lot of changes have been made to fonts and a new font glyph provider (unihex and reference) have been added.

Besides the above, sculk sensors have been overhauled and now stay in their Cooldown phase for 10 ticks. To compensate, other phase timings have been adjusted accordingly. We won’t bore you with the exact details regarding these changes.
