Hello, UltraServers community! We are now several months into the free Alpha phase of UltraServers, and we have learned a lot during this time. We have proven that our hardware is more than capable and performs even better than we expected!

Our dashboard has been thoroughly stress-tested by our Alpha testers, and along the way, we have strived to implement new features as they were requested. We have proven to ourselves and our community that UltraServers is fast, reactive to feedback, and stable. We are here to stay!

However, the time has come for us to take the next step on our journey, and very soon we will be moving into the Beta testing phase. We are very excited to have finally reached this milestone, and cannot wait to embark on this journey with all of you.

During the Alpha phase, we have seen our community grow larger by the day, and we are glad to see how invested you all are in the development of UltraServers. We have received a lot of great feedback and a long list of feature requests.

To make the feedback process as easy as possible, we launched our Feedback system. It has been a crucial tool for our further development and an open channel between you, our community, and UltraServers.

Beta Phase

In the coming weeks, we will take the next milestone towards a full release of UltraServers. The offering of free game servers will continue as we move from the Alpha testing phase to the Beta testing phase.

The transition from Alpha to Beta phase is a significant step in the development of UltraServers. It signifies that the core features of our service have been built and properly tested, and are now ready for a wider audience.

The development will of course continue with unwavering commitment, and constant improvements will always be a part of our service. We strongly urge our community to keep giving us feedback as we release new features and games. Your opinion matters and will always be an integral part of how we develop UltraServers further.

As we transition into the Beta phase, you might be wondering how this will affect you, our loyal Alpha testers? Well, there is no need for panic. We will continue to offer our base plan (4GB RAM / 2 vCores / 100GB NVMe), free of charge, until 1st November 2023.

This means that you still have plenty of time to continue using your game servers at UltraServers and provide us valuable feedback before we begin to charge.

Furthermore, once we begin to charge full price for our plans, a recurring discount will be offered to all Alpha testers that have provided feedback and have been active and helpful in our community. The exact amount of this discount is still up for internal discussion, so stay tuned for more details.

Billing

The main feature of the Beta phase is the release of the Billing functionality. This feature will be fully integrated into the UltraServers dashboard, and this way make it very easy for our users to purchase upgrades to their service.

Speaking of upgrades, as we now have stopped offering free upgrades to our Alpha testers; all upgrades to your base plan will have to be purchased. At UltraServers, we are firm believers that game hosting should be easy, and our community should be able to upgrade their service without unnecessary steps.

This is why we decided to fully integrate the billing functionality into the dashboard, to completely eliminate the need for an external billing and payment portal.

FAQ

Will you just start charging me?

All plans will switch to paid plans on 1st November 2023. Everyone has the choice to explicitly opt-in. You cannot be charged without your opt-in consent. You can have 100% confidence. We haven’t asked for any payment details so it is impossible for us to charge Alpha testers.

My plan is larger than 4GB RAM / 2 vCores / 100GB NVMe – what happens to my plan?

Nothing happens until the Beta launch. After that, you will be able to opt-in to pay for your larger plan.

When can I pay for an upgrade?

This feature is scheduled for September 2023.

When will my current free plan end?

The base plan (4GB RAM / 2 vCores / 100GB NVMe) will remain free until 1st November 2023. If you have a higher plan, you will have to pay for your higher plan when Beta is launched. Or you can downgrade to the free plan until it ends on 1st November 2023.

Will you offer a free tier after 1st November?

The short answer is no. However, we will offer generous discounts for customers that wish to partner with us. More details to follow.

Will I get a discount for being an Alpha Tester?

Yes. A recurring discount will be offered to all Alpha testers that have provided feedback and have been active and helpful in our community. More details to follow.

Will free plan upgrades be offered during the transition from Alpha to Beta?

Only at the sole discretion of senior UltraServers staff and in very exceptional circumstances. In all cases, upgraded plans become paid-for plans from the Beta launch.
