How to compress & extract files
Compressing files
Step 1: Open the File Manager tab
- Click on File Manager on your server management page.
Step 2: Select the files
- Select the files that you want to compress.
Step 3: Compress the files
- Click on Archive.
- Confirm the compression by clicking on Archive again.
Step 4: Confirm the file was created
- A file named
archive-year-month-day-timestamp.tar.gzwill be generated.
Extracting files
Step 1: Identify the compressed file
- Identify the compressed file. They usually have extensions such as
.zip,.tar.gzand.rar - Click on the three dots
...next to the compressed file. - Click on Extract.
Step 2: Wait until the extraction is completed
- Once the extraction begins, simply wait for the message that indicates the file was successfully extracted.
